Man stole perfume sets from Boots

Nottingham: A 36-year-old man was ordered to pay £40 compensation for stealing perfume sets from Boots in Nottingham last October. Shane Krapels, of Shaw Road, Boston, Lincolnshire, admitted theft from the store, in Main Street, when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court.

Greasley: A drink-driver was fined £250, banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £25 and costs of £85. Tony Whyte, 54, of New Road, Newthorpe, was over the limit in a Land Rover Freelander, in New Road, on January 2.

When he gave police a breath test, Whyte had 44 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35. He was dealt with at Nottingham Magistrates' Court after pleading guilty.

Nottingham: Janusz Konieczkiewicz, 54, of Ivatt Drive, Sneinton, denied shoplifting booze.

He allegedly stole £5.35-worth of Stella Artois from Sainsbury's, in Carlton Street, and £23.04 of alcohol from Tesco, in Fletcher Gate, all on January 3. Konieczkiewicz has been bailed to attend a plea and case management hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on March 1 at 2pm.

The Meadows: Magistrates gave a drink-driver a 12-month ban and fined him £500. Shehzad Ghani, 28, of Catterley Hill Road, Carlton, was caught in a Jaguar X-Type, at Victoria Embankment, on January 20. When tested by police, he had 55 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35. JPs in Nottingham also ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £50 and costs of £85.
